Foggy Bridge Winery is at the northern edge of the Presidio of San Francisco, a U.S. national park, making its footprint a short walk from the Golden Gate Bridge.

Location

Its surroundings place Foggy Bridge at the center of what is quintessentially San Francisco: epic outdoor spaces where locals enjoy the plethora of athletic activities along San Francisco Bay, including running, biking and sailing.

Located at the northwest corner of Crissy Field's promenade, the Canteen and Winery at Foggy Bridge offer several unique venues for tasting and learning about wine. From the bar tables surrounding the fireplace and the bistro tables dotting the patio at the Canteen to the barrel rooms and expansive tasting bar at the winery, guests at Foggy Bridge will find a setting that suits their wine tasting style.

The Presidio of San Francisco

The Winery is also a part of the larger expansion of the Presidio of San Francisco. Recently completed commercial developments in the Presidio include the Letterman Digital Arts Center, as well as The Presidio Social Club, La Terrasse and Pres a Vi restaurants. Foggy Bridge Winery will join existing Crissy Field neighbors recreational-retailer Sports Basement and La Petite Baleen, an indoor children's swim school, as well as not-yet-opened Planet Granite, a climbing gym and yoga studio.

Combined, these assets make the Presidio a travel destination in itself within the city of San Francisco and complement the Presidio Trust's efforts to transform the 1,491-acre Presidio, a strategic military post from 1776 to 1994, into a world-class national park and community resource.

Golden Gate Bridge

Separated by half a mile, Foggy Bridge Winery takes its name from one of the most recognized landmarks in the world, the Golden Gate Bridge. Constructed between 1933 and 1937, the Bridge was built to span the Golden Gate strait and link San Francisco and Marin County. Designed by chief engineer Joseph B. Strauss, the 1.7 mile long suspension bridge was completed and opened for pedestrian traffic on May 27, 1937. Heralded for its art deco-influenced design and unique vermilion or "International Orange" paint color, the Golden Gate Bridge was the longest suspension bridge to be built at that time and defied many odds that it could even be built. It has since become one of San Francisco's most visited destinations and a source of pride for its residents.
